The new Über-Philes CD contains literally hundreds of text files covering everything from hacking to phreaking to anarchy and the government. It also includes multimedia documents, such as hacker radio shows, H2K2 Hacker Conference lectures and keynotes, and hacker documentaries.
The CD contains information about the past (such as phreaking in the '80s) and the present (such as SQL Injection Vulnerabilities in webservers). Although most of the information was written years ago, much of it still pertains to modern day. And a great deal of the information is current, so don't think it's all old news! (Some of the older files, such as the color boxes, are kept in respect of the past, for historical value.)
Over 600 megabytes in size, it's one of the largest collections of informational files you could possibly find. All the files on the CD were found online and are freely available, but this CD makes it all much more accessible. (No internet connection required!)
The best part about this CD is that it is ABSOLUTELY FREE. All of the information is given away free of charge, so that hopefully you will learn and pass the information on to your friends.
If you want a copy, find me at school and give me a CD-R or CD-RW and I'll make you a copy. If you don't have a CD-R or CD-RW, just give me $3.00 and I'll buy one for you, copy the CD, and give you your change back. I am making absolutely no profit off these CDs.
All in all, I'd say that this is a pretty good deal.
Get your CD today!
(Also: If you know someone with the CD, get them to make you a copy. And if you have the CD yourself, make copies and hand them out to people. Spread the knowledge! Make it free! Educate the masses!)
P.S. If you have any extra CD-Rs or CD-RWs I would appreciate any donations you could make. I hope eventually to get a spool of CD-Rs so that I can burn a bunch of copies then hand them out at school, free to everyone.
